Jamie Cat Callan, lives on a small farm in Upstate New York. Her work has appeared in The Sun Magazine, Story, The Missouri Review, Story, the New York Times, and elsewhere. She has received awards from the New York State Council on the Arts, the Massachusetts Council on the Arts, and The Connecticut Commission on the Arts, The Ragdale Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation and more. She has taught at UCLA, Yale University, NYU, Fairfield University, Wesleyan University and at the famed New Haven arts high school, ECA. Her writing games and exercises were published in The Writers Toolbox from Chronicle Books. In the 1980's Jamie went on to publish three young adult novels. Jamie wrote French lifestyle books (French Women Don't Sleep Alone, Bonjour, Happiness!, Ooh La La! and Parisian Charm School (Penguin Random House). Currently, she is writing a novel that takes place in Paris during the tumultuous month of May 1968.
